You know, oneness, I was often curious when I was younger about what it would be like to be in the eye of a hurricane. but then I saw the devastation of Andrew and then Mitch, and then Katrina, and now that one is staring me in the face and heading right towards me, I don't want to see what the eye is like. After this, I never will either. Keep me away from the eye!I'm leaving tomorrow. Just a little continued jog slightly north of the projected path will give Houston the worst nightmare ever--for centuries it will never be forgotten. Even if it hits Freeport, we'll get more than 100 mph winds. And a storm surge so big that it could be used to recalibrate the windspeed-storm surge conversion equation for super-strong storms. It's scary. Who knows what I will be coming back to. The med school I go to could be devastated. At least most of the people I know are not taking this lightly and are getting out of town at the latest tomorrow morning. Oh well. Please pray for us! -vaffie
