What a wonderful first day of fall it was here in Northcentral Texas as we hit a record high of 101!! burrr..... I'm glad Summer is over.....
A cold front is coming and may drop temps down into the lower 80's by next week and with the rain we may receive from Rita it sure will seem like fall for me.

(Had to sled in from the tropical battlefield)... SNOW
Oh man. I haven't seen it in over twenty years. What the heck is wrong with me! It is great to visit here, and find some like-minded fans of changing seasons and even the bite of snow and ice. Seriously, I THRIVE in it.
Hey, if you want to see/read a beautiful and unforgettable tribute to winter, find a copy of Winter by Pierre Berton. Breathtaking photos and writing that touches the very soul. Priceless stuff. Borders had these (hardcovers) for just four dollars. I bought one, saw what it really was and rushed back but they were all gone! Still, it's out there, and worth even the original cover price!
Literally, stay COOL, folks. This forum is so refreshing.

I do not like winter. I don't like the cold, snow, and ice. Our winters for the past 12 years have not been too bad tho. The biggest storm we've had was an ice storm in late Jan. 2002. I think that the biggest snowfall at one time was less than 10 inches. Mist of our winters haven't even seen normal snowfall.. 21 inches.

Turns out he was waaaay jumping the gun. Forecast now for a low of 50, showers. I wish he wouldn't do that. He had all the gardeners flipping out trying to pick all their green tomatoes and unripe melons yesterday.
