Rita part II......back in the gulf???
Judging by the BAM, GFDL, and Joe Bastardi there appears to be a decent shot of Rita re-emerging in the GOM. Do the other models follow the BAM and GFDL? If re-emergence occurs where will Rita go?

This confirms the utter worthlessness of most models. The system isn't going back in the Gulf--it is going to linger, and be a rainmaker for the entire region, unfortunately. Once again, it shows that the models need improvement, and do not reflect any semblance of forecasting reliability. Is anybody else still waiting for Rita to hit Mexico, or extreme South Texas Gulf?

Model map for Rita...a few models (definitely not the majority) take the system back into the Gomex:

Such a track situation is not exactly unprecedented in the annals of hurricane history.

All you did was bash the models, you didn't give any good reasons to why Rita wouldn't go back into the Gulf.

Also first time I have been able to log on since this morning (at work). Glad to see everyone is OK - from what I can see so far - need to catch up.
