Oh I don't trust LBAR its just that if I had to make a track it would
be similar.
And Zach I never said it was headed for Tampa Bay.
I said maybe the Big Bend.

Well I am just crazy. Please don't treat my forecasts as official.
I am just watching that crazy cold front...

I will probably end up wrong anyways since I have consistently
overestimated the strength of troughs.

Just the forecasting is crazy phun.

Best move would be to sit back and watch what happens...like a movie...
a scary one...

MODELS BABY MODELS!!!!

Image
Ahhh screw it...I dont care anymore...I've lost too much sanity
tracking this crazy beast

A quick synopsis....
Could 99L not survive? If so then
Dr. Robotnik's mean bean machine continues to put the mystery in
99L.
The grandeur of chocolate-driven elation keeps my heart pumping
at record pace...Exhilaration in its strangest sense is what chocolate
translates into. My own entropy is increasing at a rapid rate of unusual
ferocity. Time for a little reduction, better control my lattice energy.
Time for me to bump down my electron energy. TTYL my stormchasing
fellows...

The smell of trees permeates my atmosphere-- the unparalleled
grandeur of these phenomina culminating in one dignified sum.

I think it may get drawn Northward by the Upper-level Low to the North but then as the trough digs down and the ridge builds under it. Expect our system to get pulled back West. Depending on how far North it gets the next day or two will determine what happens in the Gulf.

I guess we will have a better idea when recon goes in tomorrow and we see what 99L is actually doing at that time. Hopefully, Louisiana will not get hit again.

It does not look like it poses a threat to Louisiana at this time. If it develops, Mexico looks more likely. Since it is already weak, it probably won't even survive the trip over the Yucatan. Now everyone around home is saying we took a brush to the east with Katrina, got brushed to our west with Rita. The only other scenerio left is to go right up the middle of Louisiana. Morgan City-Houma which has somewhat been spared the brunt of these canes.

Yea, well, according to our local mets, this is just another storm that we have nothing to worry about. Boy, have we heard that a lot this year. I'm not even going to watch the 10pm news tonight.

10:30pm TWO:

A TROPICAL WAVE OVER THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA IS PRODUCING
CLOUDINESS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS NEAR JAMAICA AND HAITI... AND
OVER ADJACENT CARIBBEAN WATERS. EVEN THOUGH THE THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY HAS GREATLY DECREASED THIS EVENING... UPPER-LEVEL WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT... AND THIS
SYSTEM COULD BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION DURING THE NEXT DAY OR
TWO. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT IS SCHEDULED
TO INVESTIGATE THIS SYSTEM TOMORROW... IF NECESSARY. INTERESTS IN
THE NORTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA AND ADJACENT LAND AREAS SHOULD
CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM DURING THE NEXT FEW
DAYS AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

With the amount of discussion, you'd think the WMO is going to retire "99L" this year.

Yes but wxman57's previous post stated: "It's pretty late in the season for a high to be strong enough (and stationary enough) to drive a storm west into Mexico."
IMO, we may have to wait a few more days to see where this is going and all of the gulf coast should keep an eye on this.
Recon will be in tomorrow and the models, with accurate data, should better predict this storm.

I wonder if the thread was this long when Katrina or Rita was just a tropical wave. Jeez, the thread is almost 40 pages long with something that is not even a TD yet. I hate to see how long the thread will be if it does actually become Stan the Man.

Geeze - that thread seems like it was sooooo long ago. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.
