The system seems to have consolidated rather nicely tonight.

No closed circulation... no TD or TS or anything. It can be as well organized as it wants to be.

That's not to say it won't be one soon though.

Still, close enough to land that a TDS (Tropical Disturbance Statement) might be in order. Very interesting patterns in the GOM and Bahamas.

When you look at the bouy data off Canaveral pressures are consistently falling and winds are well above tropical depression strength. Closed low or not this system is a player. Personally I think we have a hybrid on our hands. It will be interesting to see how the NHC handles it.

Who says it is not a closed low. West winds have been reported and last night while fishing at Jetty Park solid 40mph east winds.

Gee, my yard (I'm on the coast in SE N. Carolina) is still a soggy, swampy mess after Ophelia. I hope this rain pushes farther inland, if it's dry in Greenville, NC. I might float away if I get any more rain! Amazing what a difference 75 miles can make!

On another note, I'm trying to find the thread about the threatening area in the Caribbean that may develop later this week. A thread Dixibreeze started this morning that looked like the right info was locked. Why's everyone such a grump on S2K lately? I find it just as hard to wade through 1,000 posts in one thread as I do to search through many different posts on the same topic. I don't post often, but I do read this forum almost daily, and it seems like everyone's been really nasty to each other lately. What gives? Anyway, if someone can direct me to the info about the developing area (not Tammy), please post it here for me. Hopefully everyone won't freak out about an off-topic answer to an off-topic question. Thanks.

Sorry everyone's been jumping on you dixiebreeze! I personally don't have a problem with your posts. 8-)

Thank you NCcoastalgirl. I get locked down so often I forget what's happening! It does get pretty ridiculous. I really don't see a problem with similar threads. One I posted about pressures was locked and was a thread from yesterday and had nothing to do with an update on pressures today.

Sometimes there are just too many rules and way too harsh enforcement of them. Just my opinion--not very important, I know. Thanks for the help!

Thank you seaswing -- and yes, it has changed a lot in the past year.

In many cases that may sometimes be true, unfortunately.

:D Hey Brent, rain squalls a few minor gusts and very low pressure -- I have a headache. Think we'll get more weather from the Caribbean system.
