Aftermath of Rita in Jasper, Tx.

#1 Postby southerngale » Thu Oct 06, 2005 1:36 pm

Jasper fared much worse than you could imagine, being what, about 70-80 miles inland. It was a very scary night and morning. If there's ever another one, I'll evacuate much farther inland.

Hey SG. Hope things going better for you. Its amazing how many people think if they are 70-80 miles inland they will be safe from a hurricane. Hopefully your photos will make some believers.

It's good to see you, Kelly! Seems like the last time I
read one of your posts, you were having the gas issue
and having to "hunker down" - you passed through
my thoughts many times, over the next few days, while
I was going about my daily routine, and, you were
dealing with Rita!

Hey SG - thanks so much for posting these pictures!! They should be seen by everyone who said people in Houston proper were crazy for evacuating.

Susan from TX - have you seen these? This is what Spring would have looked like if Rita had hit at Freeport. Good enough reason to leave IMO.
