Hit up Walmart last night at 2 am. Best time to go. All stocked here, now it's just the waiting game.

I hate the waiting game!

I went to the Wal-Mart "Country Club" last night about 11 PM & stocked up on water. Had to stand in line 20 min behind 3 Wal-Mart employees on the clock cashing their checks at the only open register. Every one in line was furious. That's why I only go to Wal-Mart for water.

Dade is open tomorrow as well. The only reason that Broward is closed is because they had a Teacher Planning Day already planned for Friday. There's no real reason to close the schools in Dade/Broward/Palm Beach tomorrow, IMO.

My students were -removed- today, though I told them I am confident that Monday will be a closure day, particularly if this system slows down more. :D

if this stalls over the loop current, schools will be closed for a very very long time, as it would be a 2 or a 3 in Dade

Derek - Help me out with your last statement - please.

I have been out all day and trying to catch up on the happenings
of Wilma.

In Ft. Myers, and trying to figure all this out, as best we can, to make
necessary plans.

Thank you

Uhh.........There he goes again! Comes in here, says something vague yet monumental and runs. From the same school as MWatkins. Hit and Run!

And what does this mean?

Kidding aside, I know you professionals are really busy, especially now. But come one! You're teasing us!

Give the kids a term paper to do and they can use the web as a resource. My niece did one on Hurricanes and got an A+. Wonder where she got her info?

If Derek is saying this, I'm greatly concerned for SE FL

Seems like more and more Mets, including local; think that this storm will be much weaker than origianlly anticipated when it gets to SW FL and thus; a Cat 1 (weak at that) by the time it reaches the East Coast.

Sure hope that these forecasts come to fruition!

IMO, the longer it takes the more chance for it to die out a lot and/or take a different track.

Maybe I am -removed- but I get the feeling that when all is said and done this will hardly be the story we feared 24-48 hours ago. 8-)
