Conditions are expected to become rather favorable over the Caribbean in the next few days.

Let it hit 40mph for a name, then dissipate before affecting any land!

Yep, all we want is a name. TS Gamma sounds pretty cool. Some surf for the east coast would be nice!

Yeah, the Euro has jumped on board with a low pressure developing in the SW Caribbean and moving N-NW off the NE coast of Honduras in 168 hrs. Add in the NOGAPS and GFS too. Pretty strong model support for something to develop.

Hopefully the trough is strong so it misses Florida.

If this develops and aims at Fl., I am outta here. I have had enough. This is the longest 6 months I have ever experienced and this will be the final nail in the coffin, not only for me but for the real estate market in Fl. If this entity screws up race week in Homestead, I am done. I have already put my once thought of investment properties on the market here in SW. Fl. no one will be able to afford to live here, if the upcoming seasons even come close to rivaling the last two. Walking on eggshells,,,theShrimper. Thank God I had the foresight to buy property in N Fl. a few years ago, as the people from down here are scurrying to but anything in the Gainseville, Ocala and Cross City area. Unbelievable.

Well with this active cycle it will be like the 40's, except back then Florida was very sparsely developed.

I second that! Except I have given up on staying in Fl why bother your at risk throughout the entire penn. I am thinking of Texas, Rockwall no hurricanes tornadoes and mild winters...hmmmm sounds good. I love it here but its getting crazy :D

Low and mid level wind flow is out of the NE-ENE down there, so this system should be crossing Central America and going into the East Pac, not northward. In fact, all convection has now moved across Panama and IS in the East Pac.

That said, the southwest and south-central Caribbean is THE place to keep an eye on in the next 5-10 days. There are a few very weak tropical waves moving westward toward that area, and when that frontal system becomes stationary down there by next week, we could see another storm develop.
