LOL, aw, c'mon, Mary - live a little! (*Mary throws
a dinner roll at breeze and tells her to raise a child before
making that remark...!)

When my neice wanted to learn to drive a stick-shift, I
carried her out in my '92 Mazda Navajo SUV. Rolling along
on the flat pavement, she was getting the hang of it,
quite well. Then, I said "Stop." She did. We switched seats
and I drove to a road that stops at an intersection, on a hill,
and, said, "Now. Get in, and, don't kill the engine." LOL, she
killed it about 10 times, and, threw her arms up in the air
in defeat. I got in, pulled out, grinned at her, and, said,
"Wuss..." She's owned a vehicle with automatic
transmission, ever since. Mean 'ole Aunt...!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Ditto. Happy thanksgiving everyone. I am ready to collapse. I left work early today and we've been going non-stop until now. I'm stopping in here to relax a bit before beaching myself on my bed. We (I) moved all the furniture around in the dining room so we coud set up an extra table. Theresa cooked all the side dishes tonight so she can use the oven for the turkeys tomorrow, er, later today! Hopefully our guests will brave the light snow we're getting now and show up!

See ya all around later. Good Night!

OK, then...Debi went out and brought in a 7' green spindle that the store calls a "Christmas Tree". The crinoline-bedecked angel we've had for years looks terrible on top, we have ten times more ornaments than we can put up, BUT...it's "self-lit".

Tomorrow? Debi and coppertop go out for T-Day dinner, while Annabelle (she be a ho') and I wait here...the price one pays for being too ill to travel even short distances.

I hope they can bring two "doggie bags".

"Gobble, gobble gurkey, a BIG fat Turkey!" HAPPY THANKSGIVING one and all here at the PBS 8-)

WHEW........a day off and a day of rest! It's amazing, with the holidays in full swing, so are the criminals :grr: I've processed MORE burglaries in the past week than I even CARE to remember. According to the lead detective, we've had MORE burglaries this year than the past 4 years COMBINED, just shows ya how bad times are PLUS crystal meth use is up 200%

ANYWAY.....well that's bout it fer now, y'all have a GREAT TURKEY DAY! Stay safe and as always, "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You!"

OH, yeah...the local task force made a mass arrest ("Blitz" raids all at the same time) of 40 meth-related suspects this week, and those were just the ones inside the city limits...I have no idea how many were taken into custody from the surrounding counties.

Bill, my gosh - if I could have brought you and Annabelle
(she be a 'ho) a few "doggie bags", me and Mama would've
loaded you both up to eat on it for days! I am still full -
I won't eat anything else 'til tomorrow....maybe...

I did take my arthritis pill and doubled up on my Zantac,
when I got home. Then, I rested a bit to let the food settle,
and, watched the Denver vs. Dallas game, then, managed
to get my Christmas tree and most of my decorations up.
LOL, I figure that my neighbors will be saying, "That crazy
woman already has her Christmas stuff up!" I have to
work 8am - 2pm tomorrow (our usual Friday), but, I'll have
the weekend to get the rest of it up.

Ed, don't forget to let us know how the two-big-turkeys-in-
the-oven scenario went!

Have a good and restful night, everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Yes both turkeys fit in the oven. I was surprised.

We had several unusal dishes this year - a sweet potato casserole with apples and cranberries, with a crispy top, green bean casserole, two kinds of stuffing, etc. I ate one dish and a couple servings of watergate salad, and I couldn't move.

We got about 1 1/2 inches of wet snow. Our two youngest boys (9 and 11) went out and made a snowman. I keep telling my wife that I'm going to make a snowWOMAN, leaving no doubt that it's female, if you know what I mean. I better not, though, I'd probably have too much fun. I'd pay too much attention to the "important" parts.

Everything's cleaned up now. One turkey is cut up and in the freezer already.

Bill, I brought a tray for you here by the PBS. Enjoy! Sorry about the 7' green thing, though. I'd never get away with that.

Dennis, keep up the good work, gettin those bad guys.

Oh that crazy woman is putting up her chrismas decorations already! LOL @ Annette. Go ahead, get crazy - It's more fun than being normal.

Hey everyone. I need to get in the Christmas mood I guess, too. I am planning on purchasing my cards tomorrow and doing some shopping. I am crazy, I know, but I am going to have to brave the locals to get in the mood.

With my grandpa sick, I may have to tackle getting the decorations down from the attic. That should be fun! Anyone who has seen me on a ladder knows that I am always one inch away from a trip to the ER.

Have fun at work tomorrow Annette. ;)

Ed... those dishes sound wonderful!

As expected, no Thanksgiving food came my way.

There was supposed to be a take-out plate given to my oldest stepson for me, but he has yet to answer his phone, or be at home (most likely, out getting loaded with some of his "friends"); he certainly didn't bother stopping by here.

Again...if I prepare for a worst-case scenario, I'm never disappointed, no matter what happens.

Awww Bill, if I could have, I would have dropped off a plate. Here's some cyber turkey and dressing......sorry your holiday disappointed. :-(

Well, you know how things come in three's? Bad luck I mean? Well, the day before Thankgiving, my car battery just about died. My Civic had been starting reluctantly for days, so since very cold wx was on tap AND my oldest college freshman daughter due home to drive it, I pulled into CarX. After picking up rolls and pies for the dinner. Sure enough, it was barely putting out whatever they're called - 60 out of 480. They rotated my tires too (now I'm set if it snows a lot!), back in the car 40 minutes (thought that was very good considering it was the day before a holiday), 2 more errands and I was back home. Laura asked - where were you? LOL Oh, you know pies, donuts, rolls, car battery, milk, etc. he he Then I go to use our downstairs bathroom, handle breaks. Oh lovely, company is coming in a day. So off the lid comes, you could manually flush that way. Would my kids do that? Oh no, that's gross Mom......so I had flush duty. My glasses broke next, just simple reading glasses.....Nina came home - it was so neat to finally see her. Our dog went literally nuts, couldn't get enough of her! She uh, dumped 2 huge lawn sized garbage bags of dirty laundry near the washer. Hey Mom, would you mind.....sure, we had clothes drip drying all over this house! Since over 75% gets drip dried, it was like that commerical, with clothes drying all over the home. I had to quick do it before company.....come 10 p.m., hubby ~looks~ at the commode. Yup, broken, we need a new handle. Of course Lowe's and Home Depot - closed! I had been washing china, crystal, setting the table, cleaning, I had no time to keep reminding him to fix it. So off to Bigg's of all places I went. It was after 11 when I was standing in their 'plumbing' section. But sure enough they had one! It was repaired by midnight.

No disasters on the holiday.

But today I dropped the coffee caraffe, it's broken and in the garbage now. And oh yeah, I did soak the very nice wooden fish we have, a xmas gift from years ago, that we had sardines in (don't ask, a family tradition my hubby says, ugh) and of course, I had forgotten it had water in it. It's now cracked and warped in places.

I think I should just sit in a chair and read the paper. I was going to tackle the xmas lights and decorations. With my luck lately, which is numbering 5 right now, I'll break something!

Happy Black Friday everyone! I'm not shopping, staying put and loving it. Happy shopping to those that are braving the crowds and traffic and happy decorating to those that are tackling that (and now we'll get a slew of posts from friends who already have decorated!).

Hey Mary....you had quite a couple of days. How does that go, "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all?" Sounds like you had more than your share of small challenges that must have seemed to overwhelm at times. But alas, it all comes to an end and we move on.

Snow for Thanksgiving, huh Ed? A sign of more things to come, I'm sure. My friend at NWS Buffalo just loves how things seem to be setting up for the winter lake effect snows!

We did well on Thanksgiving day. The house looked as though it had imploded after the meal, two grandkids, and the family here for it all. But alas, by bedtime last night there was a path to and from the kitchen and bathroom so that we could make all necessary trips.

I was up at 4:25 and at work before 6 am today but noticed just how busy Walmart was already at that hour. No shopping for me today. Just a trip to the zoo later tonight after work and after dark. A gazillion lights and lots of music there for the kiddies...so Emma and Olivia will get lots of fresh air and check out the gorillas after dark.

The girls will be shopping tonight, so Jason and I have the babysitting duty with the two little ones. Zoon lights will work just fine and is only 20 minutes from home.

Well...rest up everyone when you can. The pace of the holidays will pick up quickly from here on out!

Meanwhile...a good day to work really, as the phones are quite silent. Most everyone thinks we're still off today!!!

By the way Bill....we bought a little Christmas tree last January at the after-Christmas sale. Didn't open it until this past week. I was glad to see that it was a tree, not a water heater, since the boxes are about the same size.

But, it was missing a small section and, of course, the sales receipt made it quite clear that we had to complain about that last January.

So...our tree looks as though part of it had a growth spurt greater than the rest. Must have been a wet spring one of those years.

Garrett, if you'll drag the boxes down from the attic -
YES! I'll do the decorating! Hope your grandpa
gets to feeling better, too.

Miss Mary - why does everything seem to happen on a
Holiday? I do hope that you manage to get some rest in
between all of the breakdowns and Mom duties. LOL, "if
Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"!

Poppysky, it was very peaceful at work, today, for me,
as well. I had four phone calls, all day (last one was the
good Doc checking to see if there was any severe
problems with any of his patients), and, not one soul
walked through that unlocked door into the waiting room.
I got many things done that had waited...and waited...

Hey, I won't leave any turkey sandwiches (*breeze ducks
and runs), LOL, but I'll leave some KK's and hot cocoa for
you late-nighters.

Brrrr...that stove feels good, tonight. I'm curling up with an
afghan and reading the November "Southern Living" magazine,
again...

Bill, If I could send you some turkey and stuff, I would. I was thinking whimsically how I could preserve it. I'm just afraid that it would turn out like an M.R.E.

We started getting ready to move in the direction of preparing to begin to think about initiating our X-mas decorating.

We got stuck when a box of ceramic snowmen came up missing. Since "I was the one that packed them," I was on the hook for them being missing. Fortunately (for me) they turned up after we turned the entire garage upside down. They were on a shelf in the hallway. I think that they were missed when we were packing last January, and I just stuck them there instead of putting them with the rest of decorations.

Steve, it sounds like you are full swing in the poppy mode.

Annette, you are so enthused! I was too for about 15 minutes, till my honey wondered where those blasted snowmen were.

Mary, lets hope that all the glitches are behind you. Thanksgiving is just a warmup for Christmas!

LOL, Ed, sorry about the snowman mishap! LOL, I'm STILL
finding stuff in boxes from moving back here, three years ago.
I scored some videos I thought I'd lost while rummaging
through what I thought was Christmas stuff, today. One
video was my treasured "A Christmas Story" with Ralphie
and the Old Man and the gang! It ain't Christmas 'til
I see that one!

Ya'll be good. I left some pumpkin pie - I think Crouton
must have found last night's KKs...I see crumbs, and, a trail
behind the couch...heeeere, piggy, piggy! LOL, oh well -
stay warm and cozy, folks!
