We are comparing this year's storms against each other - not against other historic storms in other years. But there is a good point about why comparing storms (in this manner) is bad - whoever is affected by any one of the storms is going to say that storm that affected them is the worst.
The whole idea of this question creeps me out. I love S2K for all the information I get, the sharing and caring...but to reduce this horrific season to which was the most devastating...gives me major shudders.
First, there were storms with no names that destroyed much, in terms of property and homes, and maybe that is the heart of my feelings.
If your father/mother/sister/brother/son/daughter/wife/husband/family member/dear friend died...which would be the worst storm in terms of life lost/property damage for YOU? There would be only one, the one that took everything that mattered to you away forever.
This question, based on statistics, takes away the humanity of the reality and I cannot be silent about that.
I KNOW it was a simple question, not intended to provoke feelings like I am having, so no need to justify the innocent intent...but I look at the responses and remember the horror on this site when the reality was happening and just have to say, please. Maybe in five years, this question. Right now...it's really difficult, when hundreds of thousands are still in the stunned mode of *how do we go on from here?*
Yes, a rant. Oh well.
