MODELS STILL INDICATING WRAPAROUND ACROSS NRN 2/3RDS OF CWA SUNDAY
AND SUNDAY NIGHT. WHILE MID LEVEL TEMPS WILL BE MARGINAL FOR SNOW
...AGAIN SFC TEMPS AND DEWPOINTS WILL BE ABOVE FREEZING EXCEPT IN
ELEVATIONS ABOVE 3000FT. IF WE COULD GET SOME MDT TO HEAVY BANDS OF
PRECIP IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE FOR THE SNOW TO REACH THE SURFACE AND
PERHAPS ACCUMULATE...HOWEVER LIGHT PRECIPITAION IS ABOUT THE BEST
ONE COULD HOPE FOR WITH THIS PATTERN.

Just remember this *is* the very same FFC that a couple of weeks ago said "no ice storm", and then we had one. ;)

IOW, reliability isn't a big factor with them.

I'm just a smidge too far south to get in on this action, but they're saying NW GA is going to see *now showers tonight. :D

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

...A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND SNOW POSSIBLE EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA TONIGHT...

A LOW PRESSURE CENTER OVER KENTUCKY IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHEAST TONIGHT. MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW PRESSURE CENTER WILL CONTINUE TO SWEEP ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA TONIGHT ALONG WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS. DURING THE NIGHT THE AIR IS EXPECTED TO BECOME COLD ENOUGH FOR THE RAIN SHOWERS TO BECOME MIXED WITH SNOW IN EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA. THIS WILL OCCUR MAINLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM ROME TO JASPER TO JUST NORTH OF HELEN. IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS MAINLY ABOVE 2000 FEET THE RAIN SHOWERS WILL LIKELY CHANGE OVER TO MOSTLY SNOW SHOWERS. SNOW COULD ACCUMULATE UP TO ONE INCH ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS OVERNIGHT.

TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN MOSTLY IN THE UPPER 30S TO LOWER 40S ACROSS EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON AND ARE EXPECTED TO ONLY DROP TO THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S DURING THE NIGHT. MOST ROADS SHOULD REMAIN FREE OF ICE HOWEVER SOME PATCHY ICE COULD DEVELOP ON THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES IN NORTHEAST GEORGIA.

PRECIPITATION SHOULD END BY MONDAY MORNING WITH DECREASING CLOUDS ON MONDAY.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR THE LATEST FORECAST AND STATEMENTS ON THIS SITUATION.

If your not above 1,500 feet, then you have no chance.

I've moved on to the prospects for severe weather Wednesday.

I know that, Brent. Did you see where I said this? :D

Severe weather as in T-Storms? On Wednesday?

My birthday is Thursday. I want either a massive blizzard, or clear, sunny weather. Not T-storms.

Thunderstorms are likely... just not sure on the severe weather yet. *Looks like* more of a hail threat for now, but it needs to be monitored. It is Late December which would tend to lessen the chance of an event.

Happy Early Birthday. 8-)

Thursday looks a lot like today... cloudy, dreary, chilly, with lingering light rain.
