Doc is right on target with this. There is no need to create new threads about years ahead of 2006 of any theme especially those about the names.

Very well said Doc.
However, I believe this topic is a sort of contradiction without a lesson being learned. Perhaps this topic should be locked and stickied or a topic should be made concerning this and stickied so future outbursts of these topics can be hopefully stopped before they start.
But that's just my thoughts.

BTW- I am not a brown noser either.....![]()
Okay...
But, in the "off season", the mods - thankfully - seem to take a less stringent stance on such things. Otherwise, issues that may warrant discussion (especially during this time of the year) oftentimes don't get the attention they deserve since some of the "other" forums don't have nearly the traffic this one does.
The way I see it, in the off season, it's really no big deal unless there's absolutely NO WAY to connect the discussion to an issue of a tropical nature.
During the season, however, when the stuff is REALLY hitting the fan hot and heavy - with new posts coming in like lightening 24/7 - and there are dozens of members online at any given time, I'd agree that certain posts need to be appropriately managed. And generally they are.
As it is now, the only ones here in the Tropical Forum are us die hards - and we could probably be counted on four hands or less... You can bet it won't be like this come June & July!!
Personally, during this time of the year, I kinda like to see the tropical forum up and running like this - even if some of the posts might be a bit questionable in their intended location.
