This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

It is not up to you to observe nor make decisions. Point is, this thread was created for a totally different theme and it was turned upside down.

Yep, once again. Seems to be a lot of that lately.

note: EWG wasn't the one who started that though. *cough* pecan pie anyone?

They are all bad. When someone loses their life, loved one or home they built with their own hands and lived in for 53 years, it doesn't matter how strong they are.

This is not about one upmanship, but lets remember this. Andrew's report in '92 was final at that time. Everything at that time sipported cat 4.

EWG wrote

With Katrina I can understand because almost everything supports a category 4
Actually I would argue that the report on Katrina is correct. "Almost everything" does not support a category 4.

appologies...

it does get better... just hang in there.
some lost all... all lost some. all we can do is
just keep on moving forward... I find that it's
best to look forward... try and not look back
too much. It works for me.

Well as mentioned it's a shame that this thread has taken a turn in the wrong direction like many this off-season.

Regardless it is even a bigger shame on how the areas of Rita have literally been forgotten. Chalk it up to the last few years and "hurricane overdose" if that is even a good enough excuse………..

For Houston being one of the largest media markets in the nation, and especially in a hurricane prone area, I've been appalled at how little they have followed the aftermath of Rita to our neighbors in Texas and Louisiana. When we talk about the history of hurricanes and Texas impacts, Rita will go down IMO as one of the most destructive canes in our history. Yet little coverage has been given to her. I'm still amazed the few times I've driven in the general area, on how much damage Rita inflicted. For our fellow Houstonians, Alicia would have been a nice summer shower compared to the force of Rita.

For Houston I believe it was the evacuation headaches and the stress of that.

Umm, the guy who posted right before you, which apparently sparked your comment about Houston. He signed his post "Scott"

Perhaps you should seriously consider reading entire posts before you respond to them. That or maybe you have a comprehension problem as you've been confused with posts several times in this thread alone, when things are very clear.
