Well as mentioned it's a shame that this thread has taken a turn in the wrong direction like many this off-season.
Regardless it is even a bigger shame on how the areas of Rita have literally been forgotten. Chalk it up to the last few years and "hurricane overdose" if that is even a good enough excuse………..
For Houston being one of the largest media markets in the nation, and especially in a hurricane prone area, I've been appalled at how little they have followed the aftermath of Rita to our neighbors in Texas and Louisiana. When we talk about the history of hurricanes and Texas impacts, Rita will go down IMO as one of the most destructive canes in our history. Yet little coverage has been given to her. I'm still amazed the few times I've driven in the general area, on how much damage Rita inflicted. For our fellow Houstonians, Alicia would have been a nice summer shower compared to the force of Rita.
