The GFS is developing low pressure in the gulf of mexico...look at a satellite image of the gulf.Of course its not tropical in nature!But my point is it will bring an end to drought conditions before all is said and done.

That's what the NWS discussion above was talking about when it said:

GFS CONTINUES
TO PRODUCE SOME ODD FEATURES ACROSS THE AREA IN THE SHORTER
TERM...UNDOUBTEDLY DUE TO CONVECTIVE FEEDBACK. NAM PRODUCING
BETTER GUIDANCE.


I don't believe the GFS guidance in this case.

yea X-Y-N0 if low pressure does develope which i think its trying to do...IT WILL NOT BE TROPICAL IN NATURE!Much needed rain though. :wink:

Not saying this will develop into anything, but the convection near the "middle" of this thing seems to be getting stronger. If shear was lower, we might have a real problem.

Hah they just mentioned it on two local New Orleans weathercasts. Both mets treated it with skepticism. But, if anything, straight to Florida. Don't shoot the messenger.

Even if it did develop it would be extremely weak. We still have a little while to go before having to worry about anything truly damaging.

Good news for the Florida Penninsula as parts of that area has been with a drought so this will help aliviate that.However more systems like this one will be needed to terminate that drought situation.

You know that's a good point, but with so many roofs and such still not done from Wilma, it wouldn't take much to create a problem in central/south Florida.

While it may not devlop, it sure looks like it will bring some rain to South FL.. .if not the first cell, the second cell (assuming it stays together of course.)

I can't tell if it has a closed circulation...the Infrared seems to suggest it does somewhat, the radar doesn't...

I drove through some hail in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale that was spawn ahead of this front/possible developing low. Anyone in Florida will tell you we really need the rain.

I hope the system gets here early tommorow so it limits the heating and the potential for nasty storms. The rain will be very nice, the potential for severe storms is not.
