From what I have seen on the GOES vis loop the overall system is not moving much if at all... the broad low does see to be elongated SW to NE somewhat... the shear is still pounding the stew out of it, which gives the illusion of a NE motion with the tops of the storms being sheared off to the NE... also one on the mini vortex was also moving to the NE... but as far as I can tell the main circulation of the system is not moving much, or at least is have not beening moving much during the past hour or so


I posted this at 3:59 :)

I'm thinking we now have 2 centers elongated SW to NE...the NE center is still generating convection...which could lower pressures further and allow the centers to meet somewhere in the middle, much closer to the main convection. (this is all based on visible imagery, btw...not surface observations)

the GFDL model has alberto at 43kts at landfall.
I want some of they are feeding that GFDL( or maybe not), 109 knts as it reaches the the Delmarva.

We're in Audubon Place right now (East End beach side)...but we should be back in our house on the "near West End" in a few weeks. I'm sitting on the deck watching the waves pick up as we speak...It's a gorgeous evening and I expect a spectactular sunset tonight :)

you know that recon did issue a vortex not to long ago and if there wasnt a discernable LLC then they wouldnt of issued one...

Guys i just want to show the water vapor imagery so can see the (DRY) air killing alberto.its completely engulfed the center of ciculation.

Yea Christy...it's so dry out there, I just heard a report from offshore oil rigs they they're noticing numerous cactus plants growing around the central and western gulf. :cheesy:

I think I've heard about the dry air and shear in 70% of these posts, let's talk about something else other then how dry it is. BTW, remember last week when we talked about how the dry air was going to leave? What's going to happen within the next few days?

How can the GFDL do that? It's forecasting a TS to strengthen to a Cat 2 *over land*! Is something wrong with the model?

It may actually be the storm's interaction with dry air that is creating more convection this evening.
