Well, the NWS has really changed their tune from 2 days ago. Looks like an extended dry period instead of another round of wet weather.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
420 AM CDT THU JUN 22 2006

.DISCUSSION...
ISOLATED SHRA REMAINING MOSTLY OFFSHORE THIS MORNING. WILL BE GO-
ING WITH MODEL TRENDS STARTED YESTERDAY OF LOWERING POPS THE NEXT
SEVERAL DAYS. WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO SQUEEZE OUT ONE MORE DAY OF SCT
-TSRAS TODAY GIVEN THE LINGERING MOISTURE/STILL SOMEWHAT UNSTABLE
AIRMASS OVER SE TX AFTER SOME HEATING LATER THIS AFTN. HOWEVER...
WITH A PERSISTENT OFFSHORE FLOW DEVELOPING OVER THE REGION BY THE
WEEKEND (IN THE WAKE OF A WEAK "COOL" FRONT ON SAT) PCPN COVERAGE
SHOULD BECOME MUCH MORE LIMITED AS THE AIRMASS DRIES OUT AND HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE EAST. POPS TO REMAIN LOW/NEAR NIL FOR
THE EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK DESPITE PROGS OF SETX STAYING JUST ON
THE PERIPHERY OF THE BROAD WEAKNESS AREA ALOFT. PER THESE CURRENT
EXTENDED RUNS...WE MAY NOT SEE ANY SIGNIFICANT POPS UNITL LATE IN
THE WEEK (WHEN MORE PERSISTENT/STRONGER ONSHORE LL WINDS ARE FCST
TO RESUME).

You beat me to it jschlitz. :cheesy:

My wife just called me here at the office and said that we have lots of branches down and the rain is unreal. We are getting more in this one storm that we did when that ULL was parked over us for a few days. I'm also getting pummeled pretty good here in southern Montgomery County near Rayford Road.

Yep, I'm showing rainfall rates of up to 2.5"/hour right over The Woodlands from this. I think I totaled close to 3" from the ULL.

Multiple outflow boundries are about to converge on the city of Houston. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next our or two. It's still in the 90's here by the Galleria.

I am getting a nice rainstorm in spring too. No branches down, and not quite 3", but I would guess I am getting a nice 0.50 - 1.00" of rain (but it is still coming down, so these totals may go up).

Hey EWG, that storm going up in Spring is still forming with a good updraft. I wouldn't be surprised if you saw some hail.

There are currently 3 severe thunderstorm warnings in effect (in addition to the ones earlier). No watch, no risk area, not even a Mesoscale Discussion.

I've seen full-blown watches with less warnings than this.

Wow. I just saw a great lightning show! That severe storm exploded within a mile of my area (but stayed just east of me). There were tons of close lightning strikes, and some breezy winds, but my area really missed out from any severe stuff. I am getting a nice soaking downpour right now though.

Also...I would bet that within a mile or two of my area there was hail. Anyone have hail to report?

It's been indicated on radar up to 1.50 - 1.75" along and just east of I-45. last frame shows rotation. Also that cell in N. Fort Bend may get a warning too.

Just in - Flash FLood Warning now for Harris.
