Useless Shows On TV
What is one time slot or show on tv that you think is really bad or useless?
One that could be removed and something better put in that slot.
Me... Paula Zahn. All her shows are usually just repeats of old news already on. I would like something different. She has a dry personality too. Just my opinion.

Infomercials have got to go! And I can't believe there are networks full of them.
The Friday primetime slot on NBC might as well be reruns of classic oldies, because that's a graveyard slot for any NBC show. And let's face it, if they've already been cancelled (because they're oldies), what would they have to lose?

Yikes! 2 of the 3 shows I watch regularly are on FOX and I love them - 24 and House. I gotta have my FOX for those two. My other regular show is LOST on ABC. Throw in some sports and news and a few sitcoms here and there and I'm set. I don't watch that much TV - nothing like most people I know.
Useless shows would be most reality shows - geez, enough already...and infomercials. Show sitcoms instead!

What I've noticed here is over night many the channels seem to change to quiz channels. People phone up and it costs them between 60p and £1 for really obscure puzzles that don't make sense. Problem is people must be calling in as there are so many of them.
Oh and yes in general I hate reality programmes, soaps, Friends, drama. (Yes I mainly watch sport , comedy and documentaries).

[quote] Ah, you have them too. They're fun to watch when you've had a beer too much though.
Another useless program is a talking show about football. It consists of 4 men, talking 30 minutes about one match. They discuss things like 'what would have happenend if that player scored' or 'what would have happenend if that player didn't play in the match' Really useless...

We have a similar program in the US on the ESPNews Channel called "4 Quarters". At least it's not on basic cable. (WHEW)

Fear Factor needs to go. I never watch it, it just bothers me that it's there because it's so awful. Also, I've seen interviews with the host and would love to see him out of a job. Also, anything on ABC featuring John Stossel. He's THE worst reported I've ever seen and why he has a job is amazing to me.

Wasn't there a movie, or a book... something like: "Reality Bites?"
They had it right!.... Can't stand any of 'em.

What kills me is the re-runs... It seems like a station will have only about a dozen or so episodes of a series. Example, say, M*A*S*H - it's always one of a repeating group although the show ran for what - eleven seasons?
What I can do without is movies on "regular" TV - both the "standard" framing to "fit TV" and having been edited for time and content. Many films just look terrible, plus they are edited to the point of idiocy. In some, whole scenes are gone. Finally, the commercials just pound you to pieces, with their own loud soundtracks and endless repetition.
