As I read this and keep up with what is going on I keep thinking about the fact that my husband and his friends went fishing yesterday morning out of LA near Venice and they are supposed to be coming back today by boat through the Gulf. Yes, I am scared. I have been trying to call him today and either his phone is dead or he is out of cell range. So keep me updated on what the weather is doing.

this satellite picture is looking quite good as it is moving closer to the coast:

looks like there may by a broad circulation.

According to the 5:30pm TWO, there are no signs of tropical development (this sytem seems to have missed it's oppurtunity), but still expect heavy rains:
I will be watching the GOM closely over the coming days, however, in case anything else tries to spin up.

Looks like most of the moisture is now headed NNE or NE.
