I'm very concerned that Beryl might catch us with our pants down up here; both Boston and Halifax TV stations were writing her off last night and this morning. I hope she stays weak, and offshore, because if she doesn't it could cause lots of problems. I find people up here do not watch TV much on the weekends, especially in Summer. As such Beryl has a chance to launch a "sneak attack".

Better hope that the jet streak to its west reaches it because this system is looking very good and least us forget what the gulf stream done for Alex. Wouldn't it be uncanny if it did do an Alex and then darted northwards close to Long Island as a hurricane. New Orleans last year then New York this year.
In all honesty though I personally don't think it'll get much above 60mph because of cooler waters and increasing shear again.

Well, I'm interested, especially since the 12Z GFDL brings Beryl into western Long Island!

If she can stall over the GS for a long period of time she might be a hurricane.

jeez people...
the storm is weak, will be fast moving, and small
not much of a problem...
also from the latest images the convection is not covering the center all the way, the storm cant intensify with that going on..
plus the storm is not very far from cooler waters
i'd say if anything we would see a windy day with occasional heavy rain in long island, IF it hit there..
not trying to offend anyone
just saying what I think

I don't think 8 mph is really fast. Also Beryl isn't so weak and her being small doesn't mean anything. And yes Beryl can still intensify because at least there is convection over the center.
