seriously. This is one of the most mind-boggling storms I have ever tracked. For all I know, by tomorrow morning Chris could be:

-DEAD.

-A Hurricane.

-doing loops.

-In Maine.

-No different than it is right now.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

Last night out on a whim, I scrolled back in time to some posts when Claudette was active in 2003. If you think Chris is crazy, you shoulda seen some of the posts when we were following Claudette! And crazy as it sounds, Chris is acting like Claudy a little bit.....can't make up his mind if he wants to strengthen or not it seems.

From what I have hear bamaboy, Chris still looks like he would be a storm to hit somewhere between northern Mexico and SW Louisiana.

I highly doubt the storm comes here. I think this is bound for Texas or Northern Mexico.

yeah, I'd really be on guard from Brownsville up to Houston. I don't think that it will be a SW LA threat, but all of the gulf still needs to follow this closely.

All I can think of is Wilma in her earlier stages. Then I went to bed, woke up in the middle of the night and thought my computer was possessed by the image of Wilma in the middle of the night! And yes, I realize Chris is a different animal altogether, still, it makes me think of it.

maybe Im crazy, but I swear I remember a TS that defied odds, sheared off into a LLC and MLC and went into the Yucatan and back out to the Gulf regained strength to TS or hurricane. Anyone recall that storm?

I still cannot believe I was awake for that... And Chris' decoupling of course!

Claudette 2003?

http://weather.unisys.com/hurricane/atl ... /track.gif

Right after it briefly became a hurricane it weakened back down to barely a storm, then was a naked swirl near the Yucatan and for a few days in the Gulf, then grew into a hurricane and hit Texas.

Claudette went right over our house on Matagorda Bay. I remember her well!
