WHAT?! Did I just say 2006 is above normal?! YES!
Remember, 28 named storms has NEVER happened before. Before 2005, 21 was that magical number that many said was very unlikely to ever occur. Now that we've seen 28 named storms in the Atlantic, it appears that anything less than 28 is considered a bust.
Is 2006 a "slow" season? I can rattle off stats all day (matter of fact, I frequently post stats in the Tropical Analysis forum, but some don't bother looking there), but instead I'll simply post two images.
