Question about hostile Atlantic

Question about hostile Atlantic
One of the few times I actually watched Jim Cantore due tropical update at 10:50pm and he showed a 7 day water vapor loop of the western Atlantic basin. He was saying as long as these enormous ULL keep on developing this will squash any development in the near term. Why is this occuring on August 17th. A month ago this would of been a stupid question. Will the ULL go away or is this never ending this year?

Not only it could, BUT IT WILL. Just like in Winter, you can't keep it from getting colder, eventually it's going to happen and it's way overdue......
Where is the 60kt shear?

True, but sometimes only slightly colder. Maybe slightly less shear won't be enough in such a hostile enviroment to begin with?

True, but sometimes only slightly colder. Maybe slightly less shear won't be enough in such a hostile enviroment to begin with?
Well, originally I thought that as well , but then all of the Mets here pointed out numerous years when it was dead like it is now and boom, once the last week of August hit, the floodgates were opened, and from what most of them were saying, the conditions then were similar to what they are now, lots of ULL's and lots of shear, but all of the sudden both of those factors were turned off and the storms started rolling in...So I don't expect this year to be any different.
