Happy Father's Day to all of the Storm2K Dads! :D

It poured rain about 9am, but, went through rather quickly.
The sun is out, at the moment, it's 78°F, and, the hammock
chair on the front porch is looking quite inviting! I'm leaving
a few boxes of KKs for anyone who gets the hungries!

Everyone have a lovely Sunday!

You know... I would take a donut, but we all know what happened the last I got my hopes up for the donut with sprinkles on top... one word... CROUTON!

Looks like another humid day outside. Well...actually it is. Saying it "looks like" implies that I haven't been outside, but I have.

Hopefully there will be some thunderstorms here in the next several hours, even though I am out to a neighborhood picnic by the pool down the road from my house... it will sure add excitement to a weather enthusiast. :D

See everyone later.....

Good Evening!

I trust all the fathers out there had a spectacular day.......I know I did! Went to the driving range around 0900, came home to a nice breakfast, watched the U.S. Open till 1530 MST.....went BACK to the driving range, now.......it's time to light the bbq for a steak and JUMBO shrimp (talk about a oxymoron, Jumbo Shrimp!)

Steve, as always, I have nothing to add following your comment to Sandi, God Bless you Sandi, we Love ya {hugs in Christ}.

Off to the BBQ......make it a great evening would ya (or in most of y'alls cases) a Good Night AND as always, "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You!" There, THAT feels better!

Jeremy you beat my butt! My highest score was an 18. Because of the allotted time and the scantron sheets, I have problems with standardized tests. I need to take my time...which rarely happens, I miss and mismark questions. Anyways, my GPA put me in college. As for my little brother he was like...That sucked! I can't think anymore.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dad's out there.

I am a lucky guesser (I guess) when it comes to standardized tests. I got a 24, but my best friend, who is 3 million times smarter than me got a 22. I don't think standardized tests tell the whole story about a person's intelligence or ability. Now when I took that SAT... that was so bad... you get docked for incorrect answers... my score was so pathetic I don't even remember it.

Hope all the father's enjoyed their day! Talk to ya'll tomorrow.

You are definitely right about that one! Too bad, I don't have my Eng 105 papers saved on my computer anymore! I hate standardized tests with a passion. I totally ripped them apart in my papers. There is NO way a scantron test can determine the placement of a student. NO WAY!!! Some people, like myself are horrible when it comes to taking standardized tests. I scored bad, and my best friend placed extremely high! For one, high school classes do not prepare you for taking the tests, they just barely, hopefully, prepare you for college. If I was judged just by my scores, there would be NO way I'd be in college nor achieving my goals of becoming a meteorologist! By 'tracking' students, it morally, single-handedly either praises the child, or downgrades the child for the possible advancement in class. Starting with 4th grade and continuing in college, students are 'tracked' by their scores on thes standardized tests. Some people, whom are book smart and have high GPA's, could easily bomb these tests, yet on the other hand, 'normal' students can do really well.

Knock on wood, I have yet to take the College Edition of the Sophomore Assessment. (BTW, I will be a senior starting this Fall).

FYI...don't get me started on this topic!!

Did someone say there is shrimp on the barbie???!! YUM!!

Evening all, Father's Day is almost over..this day went much to quick.A BEE-U-TI-FUL day though, gosh the sun was shining, lovely breeze and no rain for a change!

Hubby spent part of the day installing fence around our yard, we want to keep the dogs and my little neice in....and a neighbor's dog who likes to poop in our yard..OUT! This afternoon I left the fencing operation to go with my bestest friend to the vet.She had to put her devoted hound of 16 years to sleep.Velvet had cancer, she lived 6 months longer than the vet expected, probably she would have lived 6 months more but she had a huge tumor on her paw and her quality of life just was not quality anymore.I just KNOW that God has a special place in His kingdom for our loyal hounds.

After that came home and made hubbies special supper. He wanted meatloaf and potatoes, I made enough for an army so I brought the leftovers here to the porch.....HEY DENNIS......I'll trade ya some meatloaf for BBQ shrimp!! :D

Widremann, welcome to the porch, so very good to see you here! :D

Tomorrow morning we leave for philly again. Our son is scheduled for surgery on the 17th.We have to arrive a day ahead of time for pretesting and such. We'll stay at a hotel right across the street from the hospital. We should be able to come home by Tuesday night. This is the last hurdle for our son, he's doing great, back to snuff....Thanks be to God and the wonderful Power of the Prayer Warriors!!I'll be sure and send word through Karan as to his progress.

Well that's about all this corner of the world has to offer round the porch tonight.Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there!!

Sandi....sending extra hugs and prayers your way...

Have a marvy Monday friends, rejoice in the day for it is the day that the Lord has made....and God don't make icky mondays! :D

Blessings to all,
Raine

Well it looks like we are back in business here on the Front Porch. Didn't take long... painless, wasn't it? :D

Raine... prayers for your son. Hope everything goes well for you and him. :)

Had a nice walk this morning with my grandmother and a nice swim in the pool. I love the lazy days of summer. :)

Everyone have a great day,

Thanks to all for the encouraging words!! They truly mean alot! There are only 2 days a year that I have a hard time with .......but I get through them with good friends, a wonderful family, my AIM buddies, S2K and the GOOD LORD!

Thanks for the grub Raine!! And the kind words!

Muggy Monday here!! Yuckie! What is a good desktop weather station for PC besides WeatherBug? They changed their format so they are no longer spyware, but now it won't let me register and I am irritated to the point of no return and want to find another one.........no spyware!~

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and week~~~~~~~

Gulfbreezer, I had to absolutely uninstall my Weatherbug, as,
it was causing more bugs than the weather-ish ones! :P
Don't know of another program that's similar - I just had to tell
it "bye-bye"!

Raine, blessings to you and your little one...

Aw, c'mon guys - meatloaf "makes your ribs stick together"....

:ggreen: ROTF!

Ya'll have a good one - and, then some.... :)

Today was a wonderful day here in downtown Milwaukee!!! High temp of 71* light winds. You couldn't have asked for a better day!

Raine, you can keep the meatloaf... yuck!!! Anyways, good luck with Dakota's surgery.

Anyways, I love my weatherbug! Weatherbug Pro is worth the subscription! For a while I used the TWC version of desktop weather, but soon went back to my trusty weatherbug pro. I really haven't had any problems with Pro.

Thought Meatloaf was a musician? And hey Raine, when you mentioned "shrimp on the barbie" I thought for a moment that Ken had a new guy to contend with! A whole new line of Barbie stuff for the little ones to collect and lose this Christmas!

Garrett..congrats on the test results. I have a feeling you will turn those into opportunity.

And Pojo...never EVER think that the most important measuring stick of a person is a "score" of any type.

Your path in life has yet to evolve, but there are traits in you that will carry you far and wide...and bring good things to the doorstep of many you touch.

....and may God shine his light about Dakota...

Poppysky...believe me, I don't. I ripped apart Standardizes tests because of their 'tracking' emphasis for teachers and administrators. I hate standardized tests with a passion! They are just a stupid way of determine academic progress without looking at the qualities of that particular child.

Good even, er, early morning folks!

Everything is fine over here in Topeka. Another chance of pop-up thunderstorms. Can we go day 3 with 1 storm going severe? We'll find out! Will I wake up at 2:00PM? We'll find out!

Have a good day, everyone. :)

David.
