SSD Floater guys asleep at the wheel?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

SSD Floater guys asleep at the wheel?

#1 Postby GeneratorPower » Sun Sep 03, 2006 4:14 pm

I have never heard an explaination as to why the floater is so slow to move onto an important area. The satellite floaters are still both pointed to Virginia when we have a new TD to look at.

Please don't respond by telling me I shouldn't be using the floaters anyway.

Any thoughtful answers as the process of moving the floaters or the true purpose of the floaters would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I think that is a good answer..

Someone will have to put in a request to have one of the floaters changed.

Thank you for calling the Satellite Services Division. Please listen carefully as our menu options have changed.

To move the floater using latitude/longitude coordinates, press 1.

To move the floater using our automated "Find-A-Storm" system, press 2.

To speak with a customer service representative, press 0.

I guess they're out of Tropical Prozac... can't stand any more depressions.

In all seriousness, they're probably in their backyards with a keg of Bud, throwing some ribs on the grill. Or maybe I'm just projecting my own desires.
