XTRP stands for extrapolated....meaning if the current motions direction and speed continued over the next 5 days, that line is that situation.

It's not a model. XTRP stands for extrapolation. It's the current motion, extrapolated through the forecast period. Nothing else -- no smoke and mirrors.

It's very useful sometimes to look at potential acceleration (both speed and direction) of a storm down the road.

Sometimes xtrap out performs the bamm. We have 2-3 discussions on this every year but keep those questions coming newbies. You will learn a ton here as long as you are not afraid to ask!
