When I saw that it was snowing during the UT game in Lincoln yesterday I knew this front was probably just a tad stronger than advertised. It's mid 50's with that classic winter overcast here in Corpus this AM. If this front would have come down a month or so later, it would probably be much colder.

I agree. If this pattern persists into the winter, then we could see quite a few strong fronts this season.cctxhurricanewatcher wrote:When I saw that it was snowing during the UT game in Lincoln yesterday I knew this front was probably just a tad stronger than advertised. Let's hope so anyways, right?!

The 18Z GFS shows a stronger front next weekend. Like yesterday's 6Z, it brings the 0C 850mb line all the way down into parts of SE Texas. We will need to see if this becomes a model trend...

BTW: I am currently sitting at about 52F.

Didn't get quite as cold as I expected (due to light winds and mid clouds), but it is still a chilly one out there! Lows in the mid to upper 40s are widespread north of I-10 with lows down to 43F in Conroe!
With high pressure even closer to being on top of us tonight, we should manage to get down to as cold or even a few degrees colder.
