what a chilly morning! It is only 53F right now and sunny with a strong north breeze! The most amazing part though is that the temperature has actually dropped since sunrise.

These dropping temps. in the sunlight make me wonder if they may need to lower our afternoon forecast temperatures.

Maybe ... and if you take a look at the state .... there is a lot of 30s and 40s currently north of a line from Tyler to Waco back up to, oh say, Lubbock. The CAA is strong with this front!

When I saw that it was snowing during the UT game in Lincoln yesterday I knew this front was probably just a tad stronger than advertised. It's mid 50's with that classic winter overcast here in Corpus this AM. If this front would have come down a month or so later, it would probably be much colder.

I agree. If this pattern persists into the winter, then we could see quite a few strong fronts this season.

According to JB, the Euro forecast for this winter is even colder than the last time it ran. Many of the other models are showing a cold winter too. I guess we will see what happens, but for now, that is an encouraging sign!

Nice and cool today with temperatures holding in the low 60's. Looks like we'll be in upper 40's tonight and low-mid 40's Monday night. Jacket weather is here!

The 18Z GFS shows a stronger front next weekend. Like yesterday's 6Z, it brings the 0C 850mb line all the way down into parts of SE Texas. We will need to see if this becomes a model trend...

BTW: I am currently sitting at about 52F.

Didn't get quite as cold as I expected (due to light winds and mid clouds), but it is still a chilly one out there! Lows in the mid to upper 40s are widespread north of I-10 with lows down to 43F in Conroe!

With high pressure even closer to being on top of us tonight, we should manage to get down to as cold or even a few degrees colder.
