As mentioned last night, Rick Perry (R) has been re-elected Texas Governor, however in Dallas County, many voters voted democrat for district attorney. Elsewhere in the DFW area, Many cities such as Burleson, Allen, Richardson, Denton, and Grapevine have approved Liquor sales...not my hometown of Irving. As for the bond elections, all 12 bond proposals have been approved in Dallas as well as all 11 bond packages in Irving.

Looks like it may be quite some time before we have a definitive answer on who will control the Senate. As I understand it, Virginia will do a recount for any win less than 1% if Allen requests it (and so far he has given no indication that he wouldn't do so). If I'm reading the rules right, that recount would ahppen after the vote is certified, which doesn't happen for a couple of weeks.

All this is pretty murky to me, though.

Even though Montana is a closer race, it appears that it's much harder to get a recount there, so barring any irregularities turning up and pending the canvass to verify the vote (which takes about 48 hours) it looks like Tester is the winner there.

I am so happy this election is finally over! I get two whole months off before returning to man my shift at the campaign office for the next one!

Former CIA Director Robert Gates will replace him.

I expect a MAJOR change of course in Iraq. This is huge news.

Yeah, and Webb is ahead.

If they lose VA, it's 50/50.

Of course if the Senate is evenly divided that would be almost as bad for the GOP no?

And most insiders say they have it. A recount switching thousands of votes is incredibly unlikely.

Yep, either way the GOP agenda, whatever it was, is dead in the water.

Fortunately for us all, gridlock in DC is the best possible outcome for everyone. :)

The reason the GOP wants VA is to keep the committee chairmanships.

They get to keep them even if they are no longer a majority and have lost 5 seats? That's pretty silly.

Yes. The VP is the tiebreaker.
