I think people in this country needs to pay a little more to what is happening and a little less to what the media is saying is happening.
All "Conservative" or "Liberal" is, is a label given to those people who think they have the most qualities which fit into either catagory. There are certain issue's that come into light before an election so the, "Liberals" or "Conservatives" jump up into action. This system of division through the media is dispicable in my opinion and the real agenda's of either party is decided before they move into office.
The whole system stinks and it's a wonder why people think they really do have a choice. I am not liberal or conservative and I will never be either.
I don't need a label to describe how I feel and if you ask me how I feel about abortion or gay marriage it is just a cop-out created by those parties to get a person to vote one way or the other.
I'll just keep it simple, but...
...EXACTLY!
I think this post should be required reading for all (including our politicians and those who label all sides as "liberal", "conservative", negative, positive, or whatever).
I've personally never been aligned entirely with either "side", either. Also, I think the labeling of both "liberal" and "conservative" and yada, yada, yada is really short-sighted, to be truthful. It is very controversial of what really defines such "categories", and is mostly a personal matter of the individual. I personally like only a certain few candidates at all levels, including both some Democrat and some Republican ones.
I, too, also despise the negative ads from both sides. Not only are they not concise, they are often not very specific, factual, nor present anything close to the truths on any issues, regardless of what "candidate" or "side" they are representing. I think the political ads just foster more hatred and labeling and not any real knowledge of the issues at hand. They need to go.
This is all I will say on this equation, but I really think it will need to be considered. Kudos to South for compiling a thoughtful, balanced, and very decisive post. Any critique or praising of my post or the previous one will be allowed, because this is all I have to say.
Back to the issue at hand...
