the Houston afternoon NWS shift is usually the "warmer" bunch of forecasters that relies more on the GFS model. I wouldn't buy into that 38F much until evening sets in and we see how fast temps. start dropping.
With dewpoints in the lower to middle 20s right now though, I see no reason why (with calm winds) a decent freeze wouldn't happen for areas outside of the beltway and north of I-10. I even managed to reach 35-36F last night...so I think a 30-32F reading will not be hard for many tomorrow morning. We shall see I guess...
BTW: The NWS is still forecasting 33-34F for my location in northern Harris. I wonder why you are forecasted to be so much warmer in your area?
