This is gonna be a nice President's Day in North Texas...except to those who have to work or go back to school today because of Winter Weather. This week will start out windy and the warming trend continues to the beginning of this weekend. Too bad the warm-up isn't gonna last long, but it's good to know we'll see more of this --->

and less of this --->
The National Weather Service has issued a
Wind Advisory until this evening for all of North Texas. A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued for areas west of North Texas including Abilene and Brownwood. That's not our concern, however, we should still be careful considering the drought from the past 2 summers.
NWS - Fort Worth wrote:SUSTAINED SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS
UP TO 40 MPH WILL AFFECT ALL OF NORTH TEXAS TODAY. THE STRONG
GUSTY SOUTH WINDS WILL PERSIST UNTIL SUNSET...THEN DIMINISH TO 15
TO 20 MPH.
A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 25 MPH ARE
EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...
ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. BOATERS SHOULD USE EXTRA
CAUTION WHEN VENTURING ONTO AREA LAKES. RESIDENTS MAY WISH TO
TAKE ACTION TO SECURE TRASH CANS...LAWN FURNITURE...AND OTHER
LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS THAT MAY BE BLOWN AROUND IN THE
STRONG WINDS.
