The National Weather Service has issued a Snow Advisory for the northern 1/2 of North Texas, including the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex until Noon CST.

NWS - Fort Worth wrote:PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW OR LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH
MIDDAY OVER THE SNOW ADVISORY AREA. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS TO
BETWEEN ONE HALF AND ONE INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING...ESPECIALLY
THOSE AREAS CLOSER TO THE RED RIVER WHERE SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES
WILL EXIST THROUGH MID MORNING.

SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE ON ELEVATED OR
GRASSY SURFACES. BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WILL BE THE FIRST
LOCATIONS WHERE ICY SPOTS MAY DEVELOP AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE DONE
WITH CAUTION.

By late afternoon, we'll see some clearing and temperatures in and out of freezing throughout a couple of weeks.

The Arctic assault for North Texas has subsided...for now. On Monday through Wednesday, we'll have Partly Cloudy skies with highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s and 40s. By Wednesday Night, we'll have another cold front sweep through the North Texas area, bringing a slight chance of rain, along with highs dropping into the 40s.

Today is the beginning of the short term warming trend! Highs will be in the 60s to near 70 from Today through Wednesday, and lows will be in the 40s. So enjoy the mild weather while it lasts, lose the jackets...wait...don't lose the jackets, just take 'em off during the afternoon. However, another cold front will shove high temperatures back down into the 40s and 50s from Wednesday Night on.

DFW Forecast:

Saturday: Image 45°F | 32°F
Sunday: Image 50°F

According to The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast, we'll see another round of winter weather on Valentine's Day. Will we have another wintry Valentine's Day like in 2004? We'll just cross that bridge when we get there.

Let me sum up what happened today: Most of us North Texans are soaking up the mild weather here. But we can't brag too much about it, because we got another cold front coming this Wednesday Evening. Don't lose your jackets just yet, we're back on a roller coaster ride throughout next week. That and we also have a slight chance of showers from Saturday on.

I knew the Spring-like weather didn't last long. We've had yet another cold front sweep through the North Texas region, shoving high temperatures back down into the 40s and 50s (lows in the 30s) with various chances of rain and thunderstorms. There will be one more mild day (Monday), then Winter will makes its comeback. At least there won't be some wintry precip in the forecast for the next week.

At this point, much of the North Texas areas are seeing drizzle with foggy or hazy conditions. Visibilities have been reduced to at least 2 miles, maybe less.

At this point, it's still a little light drizzle in the metroplex. Fog and haze continue to reduce visibilities to as low as 1 1/2, and will stay that way throughout the early morning hours. So to those who are driving a school bus or a utility vehicle, make sure you have a strobe light on, and check the morning weather and traffic conditions from NWS, your local TV and radio station, or (do I dare say it) The Weather Channel.

Today through next weekend seems to be how the story went on last Wednesday. It'll be a slight warm-up and once again, back to cold temperatures, except after Wednesday's next Arctic blast, high temperaturs will sharply fall to near 40 and lows will be in the upper 20s to near 30. THere will be a chance of thunderstorms on Monday, and a few could be severe.

INSTABILITY FOR ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...MAINLY ALONG AND
EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. LARGE HAIL
WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREAT.

Then on Wednesday, we'll see a mixture of rain and snow (oh, goody).

Again, as I mention on Wednesday, enjoy this mild weather while it lasts, because this time, we're gonna drop hard!. After the wintry precip has come and gone, we'll see highs in the 30s. :cold: Afterwards, we'll see temperatures rising into the 50s. Will they keep on rising and stay that way, or will they rise just to fall again?

Seems we didn't quite reach our predicted high today as temperatures remained steady in the 40s to near 50 on North Texas, but we will be warming up into the 60s tomorrow only to fall back down to chilly temperatures. The SPC has isued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms along and east of I-35 with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats. We still have a chance of snow on Hump-day (Wednesday) which will taper off by lunchtime on that day. In other words, don't expect to exit the weather roller coaster anytime soon.

Since this morning, some snow flurries were falling in the North Texas area, however no accumulation was reported. Can't say the same for the residents in the Northeastern States. As the storm system moves out, we'll see a decrease in cloudiness and a rapid warm-up by President's Day. Hopefully we'll stay that way, but I'm not promising anything.

On This Valentine's Day in 2004, the Dallas/Fort Worth area had 3-5 inches of snow falling within a 12-hour period. Too bad this event couldn't be repeated this year.

It seems the storm system hasn't quite left the area just yet. This morning, residents in Northern Dallas and Tarrant Counties has gotten some flurries, but it wasn't enough to cause travel delays or school closings. Sorry, kids. Unless y'all are in the Northeastern states, it's not a Snow Day in North Texas. :P

Anyways, we'll see a slow warming trend starting this weekend as temperatures slowly rise to the 60s by Sunday.

How can I sum up this morning: :froze: :thermo: :cold: :jacket:

Although no freezing rain fell, some sprinklers were left on this morning, therefore, causing some traffic snarles.

Today is the first part of a nice weekend, but by this afternoon, we may experience windy conditons. A slow moving cold front moved past the North Texas area a few days ago, and winds may pick up by Mid-day. Thus a Wind Advisory has been issued for the North Texas area until this evening.

NWS - Fort Worth wrote:WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS THROUGH THE MORNING BEHIND
A COLD FRONT THAT IS MOVING THROUGH THE REGION. SUSTAINED
NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 30 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO NEAR
40 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED BY EARLY AFTERNOON. THE GUSTY WINDS WILL
DIMINISH THIS EVENING.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 25 MPH ARE
EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG WILL MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY
FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. BOATERS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN
VENTURING ONTO AREA LAKES. RESIDENTS SHOULD SECURE TRASH CANS...LAWN
FURNITURE...AND OTHER LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS THAT MAY BE BLOWN
AROUND IN THE STRONG WINDS.

We will not be surprised if we see another windy day in a couple of days, but the good news is that we're staying steady in the 60s! :woo:

This is gonna be a nice President's Day in North Texas...except to those who have to work or go back to school today because of Winter Weather. This week will start out windy and the warming trend continues to the beginning of this weekend. Too bad the warm-up isn't gonna last long, but it's good to know we'll see more of this ---> :sun: and less of this ---> :froze:

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory until this evening for all of North Texas. A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued for areas west of North Texas including Abilene and Brownwood. That's not our concern, however, we should still be careful considering the drought from the past 2 summers.

NWS - Fort Worth wrote:SUSTAINED SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS

EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...

The next 2 days will remain spring-like with mostly sunny conditions and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Then on Friday through Saturday evening, we'll have a chance of thunderstorms, some could be severe by Saturday, after that, temps will slowly fall into the 40s at night and the 60s during daytime hours.
