Extremeweatherguy wrote:very weird rains going on right now. They are coming in "bursts". One second I am getting Niagra falls and then the next second it dies to a light mist. It is as if sheets of torrential rain are getting blown in. Also, the winds are beginning to pick up again. Crazy wakeup call this was indeed.
I think that supercell is what caused the small hail in my area too. I was just waking up as it was exiting though, so I missed seeing it first hand (other than the initial pings on my window when I first opened my eyes..which I didn't know was hail until later).jeff wrote:I had small hail around 525am with the large supercell that moved through prior to the main line. That thing was chugging northward at a very good clip, as the rain core lasted about 5 minutes with hail.

...TEXAS...
MODELS ARE IN GENERAL AGREEMENT THAT UPPER LOW OVER SERN NM/WEST TX
WILL FINALLY KICK EWD INTO CNTRL TX BY THE END OF THE PERIOD.
STRONGER FLOW AROUND THE SRN/SERN PERIPHERY OF THIS FEATURE WILL
CERTAINLY ENHANCE DEEP LAYER SHEAR FOR POSSIBLE STORM ORGANIZATION.
UNTIL THE LATTER HALF OF THE PERIOD...WEAK LOW LEVEL
INFLOW/CONVERGENCE ACROSS CNTRL/SERN TX WILL BE SOMEWHAT PROBLEMATIC
FOR SUSTAINING ROBUST UPDRAFTS. HOWEVER...HEATING SHOULD PROVE
INSTRUMENTAL IN AFTERNOON CONVECTION BENEATH COOLING DEEP LAYER
COLUMN AND STEEPENING LAPSE RATES. IT APPEARS THUNDERSTORMS WILL
EVOLVE/RENEW DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS ALONG WEAKLY CONVERGENT
INVERTED TROUGH ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY...OR PERHAPS JUST OFF THE
ESCARPMENT. WITH TIME...LLJ SHOULD INCREASE DURING THE OVERNIGHT
HOURS ACROSS THE COASTAL PLAINS INTO EAST TX. THIS INCREASE WILL
ENHANCE SHEAR PROFILES AND LIKELY AID ORGANIZATIONAL POTENTIAL FOR
CONVECTION THAT SPREADS EAST DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SHEAR
PROFILES SEEM SUPPORTIVE OF SUPERCELLS...HOWEVER COMPLEX EVOLUTION
OF CONVECTION...AND THE POSSIBILITY FOR CLUSTERING FAVOR A RANGE OF
STORM MODES SHIFTING TO ONE OR MORE MCS-TYPE STRUCTURES BY 14/12Z
OVER THE UPPER TX COAST.
