Check out the lightning along the edge of these storms! If this holds together, then we will be in for one good light show overnight. :D

I have to say that the storms out to the west of here arent looking like they are dying down at all... The clouds here are moving fast from the SE to the NW...I am assuming they are feeding the storms to the west? Also a few spits of rain a little while ago, and I dont see any lightning..................yet...........

what a great storm right now! It started with some very gusty winds, then I got a great lightning show (which is still going on), and now I am getting BUCKETS of rain!

very weird rains going on right now. They are coming in "bursts". One second I am getting Niagra falls and then the next second it dies to a light mist. It is as if sheets of torrential rain are getting blown in. Also, the winds are beginning to pick up again. Crazy wakeup call this was indeed.

BTW: I find it odd that the SPC can have us under a Tornado watch and not a "slight risk" or "see text" zone on the day 1 outlook at the same time. Doesn't make much sense to me. (just realized that this is probably b/c their last day 1 update was at 12:48am)

Ugh, fine morning to wake up with NVD and not have the energy to get up and watch this mess. Hope I can just stay in bed and listen to the rain without having to worry about anything to severe.

What a great night! Massive Dome failure beginning around 4:00 a.m. with heavy rain and all the fireworks until about 7:30. And no flooding! Yet... Always a worry in our little corner of Bear Creek. Looks like more storms developing to our southwest this morning as well.

I had the same thing you described at my house around 5:30 this AM. It seemed like it was being blown almost sideways and it was LOUD.

Just heard on the news (about last night's storms)...

-Wind damage causes a wall to collapse in SW Houston
-golfball to baseball sized hail in Brazoria
-possible tornado (with damage..looked like F0 to me) in Needville

Also, I have been told by someone who lives in my immediate vicinty that we were getting pea-sized hail up here too last night. I guess I didn't realize it since it was mixed with the rain and was dark, but I guess that means I must have gotten some hail here too. Interesting morning for sure.

I had small hail around 525am with the large supercell that moved through prior to the main line. That thing was chugging northward at a very good clip, as the rain core lasted about 5 minutes with hail.

Got blasted with the bow on I-45 at West Rd around 545am on the way tot he office...estimated 40-50mph WSW winds...not severe but close.

I think that supercell is what caused the small hail in my area too. I was just waking up as it was exiting though, so I missed seeing it first hand (other than the initial pings on my window when I first opened my eyes..which I didn't know was hail until later).

Looks like tomorrow could feature more severe weather...

...TEXAS...

MODELS ARE IN GENERAL AGREEMENT THAT UPPER LOW OVER SERN NM/WEST TX
WILL FINALLY KICK EWD INTO CNTRL TX BY THE END OF THE PERIOD.
STRONGER FLOW AROUND THE SRN/SERN PERIPHERY OF THIS FEATURE WILL
CERTAINLY ENHANCE DEEP LAYER SHEAR FOR POSSIBLE STORM ORGANIZATION.
UNTIL THE LATTER HALF OF THE PERIOD...WEAK LOW LEVEL
INFLOW/CONVERGENCE ACROSS CNTRL/SERN TX WILL BE SOMEWHAT PROBLEMATIC
FOR SUSTAINING ROBUST UPDRAFTS. HOWEVER...HEATING SHOULD PROVE
INSTRUMENTAL IN AFTERNOON CONVECTION BENEATH COOLING DEEP LAYER
COLUMN AND STEEPENING LAPSE RATES. IT APPEARS THUNDERSTORMS WILL
EVOLVE/RENEW DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS ALONG WEAKLY CONVERGENT
INVERTED TROUGH ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY...OR PERHAPS JUST OFF THE
ESCARPMENT. WITH TIME...LLJ SHOULD INCREASE DURING THE OVERNIGHT
HOURS ACROSS THE COASTAL PLAINS INTO EAST TX. THIS INCREASE WILL
ENHANCE SHEAR PROFILES AND LIKELY AID ORGANIZATIONAL POTENTIAL FOR
CONVECTION THAT SPREADS EAST DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SHEAR
PROFILES SEEM SUPPORTIVE OF SUPERCELLS...HOWEVER COMPLEX EVOLUTION
OF CONVECTION...AND THE POSSIBILITY FOR CLUSTERING FAVOR A RANGE OF
STORM MODES SHIFTING TO ONE OR MORE MCS-TYPE STRUCTURES BY 14/12Z
OVER THE UPPER TX COAST.

Sounds like we could have a repeat of last night, or may be even worse...

Should be interesting.
