This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

It may be sooner than anyone else has thought so far if the remnants of Barbara sneak into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Shear there isn't quite as high compared to the rest of the gulf.

I agree and can see that happening

Wow, alot of people think the third named system is going to form in June. That would be something to have three named storms before July wouldn't it?

June usually nothing forms and we already had one but I think we will have another one mid to late June, most likely weak, I think we will have a strong one in July like Dennis or Emily, not that strong but strong for July standards...

I'm not too sure about that. The conditions don't seem too favorable for significant hurricanes now, although they are for tropical storms. I don't think we'll see the first major hurricane until late July or August - although we could be well into the alphabet by then (like E or F). Kinda like 1995 and 2003.

If i remember right Dennis was a Cat 4 at one point and Emily was Cat 5 in the Caribbean. So I hope nothing like that forms in July.

We can all dream:

Gonu weakens due to dry air in the Gulf of Oman. Degenerating, it crosses the Middle East into the Med Sea, where it forms into one of those infamous Med cyclones. Then it makes landfall near Spain and enters the E. Atlantic.

We can all dream. :P

First week of July in the Western Caribbean, enters the GOM and becomes the season's first hurricane. Makes landfall on the Florida Panhandle near PCB. C1 intensity.

Around July 4th.. Western Atlantic near PR.. double landfall.. Strong TS, maybe Cat 1 for South Florida.. then a cat 2 or minimal 3 for Texas coast after it progresses across the GOM
