concentrated...95L looks very nice with the

Here in Davie (west of Ft Lauderdale) from 1am to 6am we had alot of Rain & lightning. Pool water level rose a good 3" and power was out from 1:45am to 6:15am....was a rough night sleeping, especially when it started getting hot due to no A/C...LOL.

So, The Everglades is providing the breeding ground for the low if it is initialized 30 miles south of the lake.
That's the uniqueness of the Florida landmass where storms can develop over land due to the shallowness of the land and water present. Katrina lost no strength at all (might actually have intensified) when she crossed the Everglades and Wilma maintained all of her punch as she crossed. It is strange when a storm can develop over land!

With the convection well east of the center; over the Atlantic Waters; the rain hope for South Florida is the instability and the heating that is going on now with the sun out. Look for some good Thunderstorms this afternoon and hopefully for the weekend (according to the NWS discussion)

duh i just realized it was centered at 80.7 west which is inland about 30 miles or so

well the florida coast does slope to the nnw as you gain latitude so a north north east movement will bring it over water if that is the way it is moving

I do notice a very broad low level circulation, nothing defined and it has a few swirling vortex's. I think we'll get a more clear picture this afternoon due to the radiant rising war air colliding with the circulation. Should make for an interesting afternoon for weather in Florida.

Also this area should remain over land or very close to it due to very week steering currents.

Let's not forget that the upper level disturbance isn't going to direct this thing anywhere, just the convection.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1130 AM EDT FRI JUN 29 2007

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS OVER THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN BAHAMAS AND
THE FLORIDA PENINSULA ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHERN FLORIDA PENINSULA. DEVELOPMENT IS NOT
EXPECTED AT THIS TIME DUE TO STRONG UPPER-LEVEL WINDS AND PROXIMITY
TO LAND. THIS SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO MOVE SLOWLY NORTHWARD NEAR OR
OVER THE FLORIDA PENINSULA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO...AND IT COULD
PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE BAHAMAS AND
FLORIDA.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
