Modified NOAA-Flood Safety Rules:

* Move to higher ground and stay away from low-lying areas such as streambeds, drainage ditches, and culverts.
(While it may be faster than walking, relocating by bicycle is not recommended.)
* Stay out of flooded areas.
In flooded areas, water may still be rising and is usually swift. Children (and adults carrying briefcases and umbrellas) are especially vulnerable and should not be allowed to play or walk (or ride bikes) in flowing water. Only 6 inches of fast-moving water is necessary to sweep you off your feet (or bike).
* Never drive your vehicle (or bike) into water of unknown depths or around barricades.
Many flood deaths occur when people drive their vehicles (including bikes) into flood waters. Flood waters may rise very quickly and could cover the vehicle or sweep it away. Just 2 feet of water can move most vehicles, including buses and trucks (and bikes). If your vehicle stalls, abandon it and immediately seek higher ground.

STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW! You are going 7 mph, man! That could kill someone! *five minutes later a Special Weather Statement is issued*

Winds of 3 mph are possible on Saturday, please prepare property for these damaging winds caused by a speeding jack*** a few days before.

At 3 mph, winds can be expected to rip off the roofs of houses and delimb trees. Gusts to -7 mph are possible and winds of this magnitude will level everything they hit.

Since negative and positive numbers typically go in opposite directions, there is the possibility of a weak spin-up, producing winds up to 10 and -10 mph. Winds of this strength kill everything they touch. If you happen to find yourself in the path of one of these spin-ups, pull out your high powered fan and try your best to blow it apart or away. If one of these whirls hits you, you will die.

Please report all wind damage and whirls to your local police department at 1-999-999-9999, when you can do so safely.

The world is going to end at 10 p.m., the next update will be issued at 11 p.m. or sooner if conditions warrant.
