Blob of heavy convection east of Guadeloupe

I have notice a nice ball of convection near Guadeloupe...the remnants of Ingrid i tkink...and this should bring showers and thunderstorms in vicinity of the island tonight....no LLC anymore....whereas we need these showers in the islands

and this system continues to expand convection and popping nicely. In my area there's numerous lightning, but no wind no showers but for the next couple of hours....things will change as this bulk wilml very closely to my island!

Meteo France issued at 8pm a yellow alert for Guadeloupe... meaning a light to moderate risk of showers and big thunderstorms for tonight and tommorow....the system is churning near Guadeloupe with more ligthning in my area.....

We have some of that lightening here too...in the distance..although I am not sure it is connected to the blob east of Guadeloupe.
and a brief shower..no thunder

OK tkanks for the info, humm not directly with the blob... but i tkink that with the proximity of the blob and particulary in the whole area beetween me and you... so there's maybe enough moisture and light winds to bring some showers.... whereas.... given the lastest from NHC discussion there's plenty of moisture due to Ingrid remnants...

The system is very close to my island right now, the thunder is roaring frequently with ligth rain and numerous lightning winds began to blown lightly....

Violent tstorms last evening in my location,with 27mm of rain recorded in my official gauge for Basse-Terre.
That's the second time in a week that so violents tstorms assault the island...

What a night yesterday...we have experienced the effects of this nearly stationary system with amazing lightning, big thunderstorms, and some light gusty winds... when i wrote my last reply...the conditions were so bad in my area...and i lost quickly electricity at 10h25 pm.
Moreover, the medias reported also some localized muslides and floodings... some branchs and shorts trees were destroyed too....
The yellow alert is maintained on the island today...with the same risk of moderate thunderstorms due to the light winds and the moisture on the area. I will see how the situation evolves but the same scenario is expected given the forecasters today :eek:

. But the only good news is the water for us :wink:

, tkanks a lot for the info....that's pretty amazing!
They reported at Meteo-France 54,5mm at Pt Canal in an hour and the whole record for Ste Anne with 63mm in two hours!!! Meteo-France expect 30 to 50 mm in some areas today...
If look at the sat pic the system is always there, hopefully its activity has dimished a little...but can regenerate at any time today, something to watch for us in the island... Also more souther ST Lucia reported numerous lightning from a correspondant yesterday night at 10pm...meaning the kind of lightining we have experienced... :eek:

hope it will calm down a bit....

Yeah seems that there's a little blob near your island approaching Msbee whereas ... convection begins to regenerate near Guadeloupe not as strong from yesterday...but...we will see what pan's out..assuming that we're always on a yellow alert..meaning that we can expect some rains and tstorms later this afternoon or this morning? :?:

Maybe residual convection east of Guadeloupe and ST Marteen ...trying to pop? :eek:

Thunderstorm activity seems to refires...numerous ligthning are making their come back, but for the moment not as strong as yesterday night...Looking at the latest sat pic...

we can expect a slight convective activity
during the next couple of hours due to the light winds and the moist atmosphere added
to the tenacious remnants of miss Ingrid...hope it won't be another round of very huge tstorms!
Note that Meteo France has issued a yellow alert at 12 am for St Maarten and has continued in the same consensus for Guadeloupe until 6pm.
In my location i have light rains, no wind, thunder is roaring frequently...and further north some impacts can be observed in the
north west side of my location... but nothing too serious for the moment compared to yesterday night !!!eesy: :wink:
