Family trees

I haven't been able to find it online just yet but one of the local Phoenix news stations annouced today that "Lowes", instead of calling them Christmas trees are being PC by calling the trees "Family Trees!" Will this EVER stop?

Re: Family trees
All this is soo stupid, what is the harm in wishing someone 'Merry Christmas', last time I checked it's a good thing! Now I've heard some people think Santa's HoHoHo is offensive, will it ever stop...

How completely idiotic. Everyone I know thinks all this PC crap is stupid... who are they people who actually agree with this stuff? And what are they smoking?
And I thought the thread was going to be about family trees... you know... relatives 'n stuff.
Someone can miscontrue a family tree as a lynching tree.

The voice of the few angry is much greater than that of the many content. Political correctness is a "necessity" born of society, and while it is a vile and wicked thing, it keeps people from constant attacks on morality. What people fail to realize is that, in an attempt to keep everyone as moral as possible, they are restricting the free expression that defines our society today.

I'd prefer "Holiday trees." I mean, seriously.

Family trees? Is my entire family suppose to climb into the tree or something? I'm gonna need a bigger tree then.

I had a tree like that once! It was a real pine; symmetric and 30 feet tall! Our house had this huge balcony, you see, and this gigantic staircase, so we could fit it in there. That was a Christmas tree!

Same here.
I'm still calling it a "Christmas tree" and I'm still saying "Merry Christmas" because that's what I CELEBRATE. If someone is that offended by me trying to share goodwill to them during the (multiple) Holiday season, then there's something wrong with them. IMHO, all of those holidays are a celebration of goodwill and for our God.

May as well get a giant redwood tree for that! Technincally the way we celebrate Christmas, we shoudl be giving gifts to Jesus, since it is his birthday. Well, of course Jesus wasn't born on December 25th, more like between April to September.

When I first saw this topic, I thought it was about Genealogy stuff. (More info on Wikipedia)
Anyways, somebody give the Politically Correct world a V8 slap.

Looks like our voices are being heard. Lowe's apologizes for "family trees"
