UK Government warns: Washing turkeys causes food poisoning

#1 Postby Chacor » Wed Dec 12, 2007 10:00 am

Eight out of ten people wash their turkeys before cooking them, a survey finds - significantly increasing the risk of food poisoning.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) found women aged over 45 were the most likely offenders, with the North-East of England the worst black spot.

The FSA warns against washing meat because harmful bacteria can splash to worktops, dishes and utensils.

Germs that cause food poisoning can linger on surfaces for days.

Wow, what next? Washing uncooked meat adds to food poisoning? Damn.

Please, now what, drinking water is bad for your colon. Come on people, we have cancers to cure and diseases to research, and people that are dying because of hunger. Stop putting money on stupid researches and do something that is beneficial for humanity.

This is silly. Just wipe down your counter with a dilute bleach solution regularly and you've got no problem.
