Casablanca, which was amazing, and Citizen Kane, which was just ever so slightly amazing-er.

My daughter who's a Junior in college is taking a journalism class this semester, called Intro to Cinema. They watched Citizen Kane on Thursday! How ironic that you should mention that movie......
It really was a landmark, wasn't it? The cinematography is well ahead of its time; most films today don't have that kind of style. The way it was told was very unique for its time as well. Stories generally followed a few of several styles back then; Kane dared to be different. Thank god Wells was only in his twenties; a movie like that would never be produced by a more experienced director.
Incidentally, Wells comes from the same town as my dad. Go figure.
