Well, we haven't seen any severe weather activity all of last night...even if there was, we probably fell asleep through it all. However, some heavy activity along with a cold front will be sweeping through the immediate DFW area throughout the day. The Tornado Watch has been reduced to only the southwestern portion of North Texas until 9:00AM CDT, but a Flash Flood Watch has been enlarged to cover the entire region until 5:00AM CDT Wednesday.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Spring has officially sprung! But not on Easter Sunday. Old Man Winter will be taking his final blow on that day, dropping temperatures to the 50s and bringing in some rain. Will it disrupt the Easter Egg Hunting activities? Or will they be scheduled the day before Easter? Well, no matter, we'll still be warming up afterwards.

Well, Happy 2nd Day of Spring!!! I would've greeted Spring yesterday, but the computer at home is acting like a jerk by disconnecting me. Anyways, we're expecting to continue this normal trend throughout Saturday, because Old Man Winter is taking another final blow on North Texas: dropping temperatures and bringing some rain along. At least we'll be warming back up to the 70s from Tuesday on.

We had ourselves a nice Spring Break last week...or the week before...or some of y'all are starting Spring Break this week...whatever...anyways, temperatures have dropped on Easter Sunday, and parents feared that the Easter Egg Hunt would be cancelled due to the rain, but there was no rain and the hunt s resumed. The kids needed a light jacket. That's all. This week will be no different, except it will be windy. But we are expecting a warm-up this week, so that's good news.

Many North Texans are waking up to windy conditions this morning, but the winds are not strong enough to prompt a Wind Advisory. Still, there is an elevated Grass Fire Danger as the warming trend continues...but it won't last long with another cool front moving into North Texas. And if y'all have any weekend plans, don't mean to dampen them, but we have a slight chance of thunderstorms from Friday on.

Anybody up for another taste of summer? (ME!!!) Good! Most of North Texas will be in the 80s in the afternoon hours, but all will come crashing down tomorrow when another cold front sweeps through. (Aw man!!) with thunderstorms from Friday to Wednesday (AW MAN!!!!!). But not to worry, we'll stay steady in the spring-like rainge from Tomorrow on.

At this point, we're in th eupper 60s to near 70. We would think it's gonna get any higher, but a strong cold front will keep the North Texas readings down in the 60s, but don't fret, this is Old Man Winter's final attempt (I hope) of putting us in a cold cap. Then from this weekend on, we'll see highs staying within the upper 60s to near 80. ALso, we got a chance of thunderstorms from tonight on with greater chances on Monday. A few storms could be strong as instability increases, but will the risks be any higher? We'll know once we begin our work/school week.

The so-called rain forecasted for the weekend didn't happen. Even if it did, we only got a trace early in the morning and most of the storms are south and east of the Metroplex. But today, the weather system is set up for us to have severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening (Yep, it's that time of year again!). Also from Tuesday Night on, we'll see a chance of thunderstorms with greater chances on Thursday.

Re: N TX Weather #2 - Spring Has Sprung!!
Earlier look at 12Z WRF skew-T forecasts showed good potential for hail in DFW area.
DFW aviation discussion mentioned that 18Z sounding shows little remaining cap. The MD for North Texas has already disappeared, don't know if that means a watch is imminent.
