I don't find the idea crazy or dumb. I believe most people in South Florida find that if all the money generated by the tourism industry stays in the area, we would have less problems. This is not because south and north are different culturally, geographically, politically, or anything else except for the economy. Of course a split will not be allowed by the Florida Legislature since if we take out Miami, the Beaches, and the Keys, what other resource would North Florida have to make money, Orlando, oranges, and the Beaches in the Panhandle? No disrespect intended, just an analysis.
By the way, do we have any Constitutional right to separate from an state and form a new one?
