Post your address on the world wide internet, and I'll pick up a six pack, some chips and dip, and drive right over. My wife went to sleep already, she won't mind.

Center still looks partially exposed, but convection seems to be building West, and it looks less exposed than just a couple of hours ago. At this rate, the center may be fully covered soon.

I'd go 60 kt right now simply based on its structure - there is no hints of an eye (that I can find) and it isn't the best organized but getting much better.

Glad to hear it! It's always better to be exhausted with electricity than without it 8-)

Now up to 60 kt. Forecast only brings it up to 65 kt though but I think that might be very conservative.

I know they have said "eye drop" even when there was obviously no eye or eyewall, but if that is correct, then this should be upped to 65 kt. Still I am not certain so I agree with the NHC in being a bit conservative here.

Whereabouts are you? If you are in Nova Scotia from the Halifax area westward, I'd definitely prepare for at least a Category 1 hurricane if I were you, and anywhere else in mainland Nova Scotia, southern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island should prepare for hurricane-force gusts.

Truro, Nova Scotia. West of Halifax. I live in Halifax during Juan, that was quite fun

Oh, and I'm aware Truro is North East of halifax, but due to the heading of the storm, it's west.

Thanks, but we just got in from a 25 mile bike ride and I've been cleaning up and getting rid of extension cords. I think I'll power up the big TV and celebrate with some chocolate chip cookies and coke. ;-)

At least you now know what hurricanes are capable of and have learned! Even if you hadn't have gone through it, there are experts here that REALLY know hurricanes. And if people are still complacent, then you should tell them what they should be doing.

What a waste of a 25 mile bike ride.. coke and cookies.. if you're going to eat junk, just do what I do and sit on your ass all day.

I had a tree rammed through my window, I know what Hurricane's are capable of :(

I know what storms are capable of but it's kind of a "boy who cried wolf" thing with the people I care about. "Mom, you should take this storm seriously... it has the potential to be bad." "Nanna, take it seriously" and then they reply that Beryl or Hanna weren't bad, so Kyle will be a walk in the park.

What if the former invest 94 system over western North Carolina and the high pressure over the Newfoundland do not move. Wouldn't Kyle track farther west than the models and forecasts currently indicate? The ridge over the Atlantic has frequently proven to be stronger than the models forecasted.

Considering Bermuda is a long way from the US and Canada, if I were King of the World, I'd have scheduled a G-IV mission. But Specialist Avila seems pretty confident on track due to good model consensus, so I can't complain too much about a lack of one.

Recon still far from Kyle, and not at low levels, but a pretty good spread between temp and dewpoint-

WV does suggests it isn't quite as dry further North...
