Looks like we're getting a going-away present from this system. Nice intensity building back to the southwest of FTW w/in the last hour.

I thought the back edge was further east? It's already cleared in west Texas. Is there another shortwave out west?

Re: Texas winter wx thread (2009-2010)
Moderate snow here, atleast a dusting, 34 degrees. We would have alot more here but the snow seems to be melting, dusting of snow none-the-less. Nice snowbands devolping and still heading in from the southwest...

Is the Arctic air still supposed to come in after the 4/5 Jan or so? With another winter storm? Seems the New Year's storm is out, and with the forecast of rising temps, nothing substantial should be out there until 8-10 days out, am I reading the posted models/charts correctly?

Re: Texas winter wx thread (2009-2010)
we have about a half inch on our grass, and now the roofs are covered. I must live in a prime spot, I think it might have to do with elevation living in by the Cedar Hill/ Grand prairie part of town. I went to get something to eat about 5 miles east of here, and it was hardly sticking at all, but it's pretty white over here.
Pretty neat I didn't expect this much an hour or two ago. It's still coming down.

Same effect here. I think the residential areas get a better coating. Once you get near the big roads\highways doesn't want to stick.

Don't think so, what makes you think so?
I think it just got stronger, and slowed down a tad I don't its building any further south. But by the looks of it I should get as much snow or more than Christmas Eve.
