I just woke up, the sun is shining brightly, I went outside and turned my outside faucets off then came here to check to see what my current outside temperature was, 23F so I went back outside and turned my faucets back on, now it's back to bed for a bit.vbhoutex wrote:vbhoutex wrote:We are currently at 24.5f and dropping. The hibiscus are definitely toast. I guess I;ll cut them way back when we start warming up some and hope for the best. They were about 5' and 6.5' around before this. I'll check the Poinsettia I moved to the garage and covered later today. Gonna have to clear a lot of mushy vine type plants oout of the garden too unless I just leave them to mulch andhope they come back. BI do appreciate the thought!!![]()
BTW, Pam you have at least half the formula for my birthday present right. Maybe you could just throw some of your snow up into the turbines and then we would have a blizzard!
What's your zip code?Diva wrote:Sort of OT but not really:![]()
I need a link to a site that will tell me what the low/high temps and wind chill was in my zip code today, yesterday and Friday.
My daughter needs this for a homework assignment. We've pretty much "guesstimated" but with technology being what it is I know I should be able to find something more exact.
I assume that the NWS site would have something like that but I've not been able to find it exactly. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Vbhoutex I promised to supply you with cold (a must ingredient) because we are hanging onto every snowflake here to break our drought (actually have a good chance of that after this winter). C'mmon the Gulf is right next to you (unfortunately it likes to share with us come summer re humidity) so what happened to all the moisture you usually get from it???
vbhoutex wrote:Looks like another hard freeze here in Houston tonight. Originally the temp was supposed to get down to 25f for the low tonight, but they are now calling for low 20's. The high is indeed being slow to move East so they have trended down with the temps. currently at 29.6f @ 8:30 and dropping quickly. It appears we have almost perfect radiational cooling taking place again tonight.
