12Z NAM predicts significant low-level warming over the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex this afternoon with the freezing level rising to 10,000 ft. That would mean all rain after noon. 12Z GFS is almost in. Let's see what it says. NAM has been a bit warm of late.

WOW. Dont think anyone expected that, especially the local Mets. Would almost be a flip flop of the original forecast, when the snow was supposed to START after noon.

I've always thought the transition back and forth would be somewhere south of I-20, didn't think it would come that close! Which is why it was hard to buy that the heaviest snows would be just south of I-20.

That would not be good for travel. Moderate to heavy sleet would cause road conditions to deteriorate quickly...

heheh yep i know....but dont think ill take a chance....clearing memory card off of camera... if it does atleast ill have some pictures....

poor Buddy (kitty), hes never seen snow...just keeps looking outside...and then looking at me, then outside again.... lol

Agreed Ntxw - the heaviest snow accumulations should set up directly north of this transition zone, which looks to be along and north of I-20. This is also depicted on the NAM snow accumulation map. Also, as soon as the trough moves overhead, temps will start to fall once again. That appears to be around late afternoon.

Agreed Ntxw - the heaviest snow accumulations should set up directly north of this transition zone, which looks to be along and north of I-20. This is also depicted on the NAM snow accumulation map. Also, as soon as the trough moves overhead, temps will start to fall once again. That appears to be around late afternoon.

Which is what KRLD's w-man was referring to earlier I believe, except he called for it earlier...

Just went out and measured here at work, 5" in the grassy areas and 2.5 in parking lot. Lotts of slush on the side streets and bridges, highway are wet and slick but seem ok. Work is at the I-30, I-35 interchange in FTW. Still all snow with some sleet mixed in, no rain so far.

Near down town FW, all SNOW here. Neighbor had some big branched break off of her tree in the front yard.
