It's just kind of running parallel to the coast right now; about 10 or so miles to the west of the Gulf. Heading pretty much north, maybe a shade west wobble, but mostly north. For reference, it's just about to enter southern-central Kenedy County, if you are familiar with Texas counties.

Looking at radar, looks like Hermine earlier made another large trochoidal wobble but is now back on a NNW heading, just crossing US 77.

Well... if it makes it to Baffin Bay going the same general direction that it has for the last 2 hours, it will be officially outside the cone - and Corpus will have a *very* interesting morning ahead.

I need the 7PM Thursday position to be further SE though. We need a good drought buster without the winds.

Pretty strong rain band woke me up in Kingsville a few minutes ago. Sure looks like the eye is heading North more towards us rather than NW as predicted in the cone. From radar in CC, it is just to the W of US 77 but in the last few loops, it seems to be drifting more toward US 281, so we may end up missing what remains of the eye.

We get street flooding here with anything over 1in/hr, so I imagine morning will surprise some people predicting we would see nothing of note from this storm.

It's interesting - by the time Hermine was at Baffin Bay's latitude, it was supposed to be near Laredo. Well, it's only about 15 miles from that latitude, and it is nowhere near Laredo. I guarantee you there will be some surprised Corpus folks as well.

Eye is passing just to the west of me at the moment. Strong winds both sustained and gusts. TV reported 37 mph sustained w/ 58 mph gust about 15 minutes earlier. I had several gusts that blew unlocked doors open.

As I thought it looks like the storms maintaining some of its strength could maybe bring tropical storm conditions all the way into San Antonio later today.

^^^ I would imagine it'll slow down quite a bit once it gets fully on-shore, but I have to remember that Ike did heavy wind damage all the way into Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.

Morning everyone from South Texas, Harlingen area. Wow what a night we had. I had a peak gust of 73mph. I live near the airport and there is pretty good damage and lost of power lost. Trees, light poles, roof singles all on the ground. Lost of power lost in the area, lastnight look like a light show, so many transformers blowing all over the place. It sure did not seem like a Tropical Storm lastnight , maybe a Minimal Cat 1 Hurricane. The eye went right over us lastnight and seem liked forever.

Wow very interesting storm, it seems to continue to display an eye like feature well inland, and even more exciting DFW may actually get tropical storm/depression rain!

That's what a moderate to strong tropical storm can do. Sustained Cat 1 hurricane force winds with gusts of 100 mph or greater are quite a bit worse.

It's starting to remind me a little bit of Erin 2007.
