Yall did see that sonde Observation Number: 20 hit 113mph at surface just before splash Location: 19.7N 94.69W

N. Fix Determined By: Penetration, Radar, Wind, Pressure and Temperature
N. Fix Level: 700mb
O. Navigation Fix Accuracy: 0.02 nautical miles
O. Meteorological Accuracy: 1 nautical mile
Remarks Section:
Maximum Wind Outbound: 105kts (~ 120.8mph) in the northeast quadrant at 5:09:30Z
Maximum Flight Level Wind: 105kts (~ 120.8mph) in the northeast quadrant at 5:09:30Z

Here's a map of the Mexican state of Veracruz. This region is where Karl is forecasted to landfall.

I could DEFIANTLY see him reaching Major status before landfall. I think he is super close to it right now. He certainly looks stronger then the 105 reported imo

Didn't our "A" storm this season (sorry forgot the name) undergo RI just a few hours before landfall? I remember it looking best immediately after landfall and we were thankful that it didn't have 6 more hours over water. We'll be saying the same thing about Karl. I think both were little tiny storms too.

using the latest satellite techniques I know. that is a major hurricane by radar and satellite estimates anyway..

it was alex this year. alex was pretty big and it did go under some ri right before landfall. pretty similar location too, karl just a little further south
